COUNCILMAN REDA'S BIOGRAPHY...

New Castle County Councilman Joseph M. Reda is a native Delawarean raised in the community known as Little Italy in Wilmington. He has resided in Vilone Village in the Town of Elsmere for nearly 40 years.
He is a family man. He has been married to his wife, Donna, for 38 years. He has two children Michael and Lisa, four granddaughters, and one grandson.
Joe is a graduate of Brown Vocational Technical High School and also received an Associate Degree from the University of Pennslyvania.
He is retired as a member of Local Union 19, International Brothers of Sheet Metal Workers after 38 years performing his trade.
He has devoted much of his life to public service and helping people to make their lives better. He served 12 years as a Councilman for the Town of Elsmere; 4 years with the Town of Elsmere Department of Public Safety; 4 years as a member of the Pension Board for Local Union 19 and 4 years as a member of the New Castle County Board of Adjustment. He coached the children of the Town of Elsmere in baseball and football for many years. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of TRAC (Therapeutic Riding at Carousel).
Joe began serving as the New Castle County Councilman representing the 1st District in 2004. His top three priorities are the areas of code enforcement, drainage/stormwater management and affordable housing.
He is presently the Co-Chairperson of the New Castle County Council's Land Use Committee and is a member of the Community Services Committee, Finance/Administration Committee, Public Safety Committee, Special Services Committee, Economic Development Committee, and Executive Committee.
